Alexandrite BeAl₂O₄:Сr³⁺

Due to its extraordinary optical and physical properties alexandrite is appreciated not only as a gemstone but also as technical material, especially in tunable lasers manufacture. It can be used also for spectroscopy, for annealing of semiconductors, in medicine, in atmospheric lidars, range-finders, in the processing of hard materials. Artificial crystals are offered exceeding natural those in their parameters.
